You need to write about a chosen topic in your own words and from your own viewpoint to resonate with admissions officers. This essay must reveal facets of your personality or experience that will demonstrate that your presence will make a meaningful contribution to the college’s optimum demographic. Proper grammar and spelling are essential. It cannot be too perfect and polished, however, otherwise it will be marked as DDI (Daddy did it) and discounted.
Some essays can be used for several colleges, but others require responses to specific topics with various word limits.
